Candida Albicans

Oregano Oil and Candida Albicans

What is Candida Albicans?

Candida Albicans is an opportunistic yeast-like fungal infection that commonly affects the mucous membranes of the mouth and genitals. While Candida Albicans or simply Candida is naturally found in the normal intestinal tract, an overgrowth can cause a lot of problems including red, inflamed and itchy rash in various parts of the body and yeast infection in the genitals. In immunocompromised patients like those with AIDS or those undergoing chemotherapy, it can cause a life-threatening systemic fungal infection.

How can oregano oil provide relief for Candida Albicans?

The Journal of Applied Nutrition cites oregano oil as a highly effective treatment for Candida (Stiles, et al., 1995). Oregano oil contains isomeric phenols, which are useful in killing toxins and fungi such as Candida Albicans. It also has thymol, which acts to boost the immune system, thereby reducing the risk of contracting the disease even further and preventing it from causing more tissue damage while promoting healing on affected areas.

Scientists said that in the nuclear bomb tests conducted in the 1950s, the only things that survived them were cockroaches and yeasts and yet these organisms can be eradicated by the powerful substance, oregano oil. Students of Georgetown University showed how potent wild oregano is against Candida by placing these fungi in petri dishes and allowing just a few drops of oregano oil to work its magic. According to these researchers, the oregano oil completely destroyed the tested Candida Albicans and is the most powerful natural antifungal substance that they tested.

An article published in 1995 called The inhibition of Candida Albicans by oregano, written by J.C. Stiles compared oregano oil to Nystatin and Ca/Mg Caprylate, which are commonly prescribed for Candida Albicans. Stiles concluded that oregano oil is over a hundred times more potent than caprylic acid against Candida.

How should oregano oil be used for Candida?

To use it, you can add 1 drop of oregano oil to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and take it like liquid medicine. You can also place this solution inside a gelatin tab for easier ingestion. Drink lots of water to help it flush your system of the Candida as it spreads throughout your body. Take this solution three times a day for at least 10 days for optimum results. If after 10 days, you’re still manifesting symptoms of Candida, rest for 2 days before continuing on with the treatment.

If you experience difficult side effects, taper the dose by adding more coconut oil or decreasing the number of times you ingest the solution in a day. You can take it just once or twice a day as you see fit.

Similarly, this is not for pregnant and lactating mothers. You should also consult a doctor if you’re taking other medications and supplements to prevent any untoward reactions. You may also take iron supplements since oregano oil may reduce your body’s ability to naturally absorb it.

Oregano oil has been proven effective against Candida Albicans. If you’re suffering from this condition, you may want to try a treatment that has been used by so many people with great results: Oregano oil.
